Bring Urban Word to You

Urban Word currently collaborates with over 100 New York City schools and programs annually to provide a wide variety of arts to students in NYC as well as professional development workshops to educators on site in schools and youth organizations. We have also hosted and curated themed performances with companies such as Bloomberg, UEG, The Young Presidents Organization National Conference, and more!

Our dynamic mentors and teaching artists lead workshops that provide fun, yet rigorous learning experiences where students gain artistic, academic and social-emotional development. Our programs can be designed and tailored to fit the needs and interests of your group.

We are back to in-person teaching and performing, but our teaching artists and mentors are available via Zoom, Google Hangout, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.

Urban Word works closely with your leadership to help facilitate and galvanize the relationships needed to not only launch this program, but also to provide support and secure the platforms needed to champion youth writers. We know nonprofits are often understaffed and under-resourced, so we have intentionally designed the program to be easy to launch and manage with the following areas and provide partnerships with the leading national literary arts organizations.
